Apply NowCurious about college life? Join Duchy College Rosewarne’s Taster Day to try Animal Care & Management - hands-on sessions with exotics and large mammals, meet tutors, use specialist kit and test whether veterinary pathways fit your plans.
Taster Day at Duchy College Rosewarne gives Year 10 and Year 11 students the chance to try college subjects before applying. Attendees will meet teaching staff, take part in practical and theory activities, and use specialised equipment so they can understand the day-to-day experience of students on those courses.
Available subject tasters include Animal Care & Management, with practical sessions in exotics rooms and small and large mammal areas plus a lesson linked to veterinary nursing and animal biology, and Agriculture and Landscape Operative, covering agriculture, horticulture, landscaping, pests and diseases, sustainability and an introduction to agriculture apprenticeships. Each day typically consists of multiple practical and theory sessions.
Practical information: the events run 10:00am-3:00pm (bring a packed lunch), and attendees are advised to bring wellies and a coat. Arrival is at reception following open day signs; pick up is at 3:00pm.
