Lloyds Banking Group's Technology Engineering Graduate Apprenticeship in Edinburgh is a four-year, paid programme that combines on-the-job experience with university study. You will split your time between Lloyds Banking Group and Edinburgh Napier University, gaining hands-on experience building, testing and delivering digital products used by millions of customers while studying towards a BSc (Hons) in Software Development.
The role is based in the Edinburgh office and follows a hybrid working approach with apprentices expected to attend the office most days during the initial settling-in period.
The programme covers progressive technical modules across the four years, including software design, maths for engineering, human-computer interaction, data science with Python, databases, object-oriented development, algorithms and data structures, web technologies, software architecture, cyber security and a honours project. Apprentices receive a mentor, manager and buddy, protected time for development, and the programme is fully funded so you earn a salary while completing your degree.
Key logistics and requirements: the apprenticeship starts in early September 2026, pays a fixed apprenticeship salary of £26,500, and requires candidates to meet Scottish Government funding eligibility. Applicants must be at least 18 by the end of February 2027, hold the specified Nat 5s and Highers, have the Right to Work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available), and must not already hold a qualification at the same or higher level.
