Tennis for High Schoolers at UCLA is a three-week, on-campus summer programme run through UCLA's Summer Institute that teaches tennis skills from beginner through advanced levels. Participants work with local professionals and experienced coaches to develop core tennis techniques (grip, stance, forehand/backhand, serves, volleys, lobs), improve agility and court movement, and learn tactical shot selection and biomechanics-informed technique.
The course includes practical competitive play to apply skills in match-like scenarios.
The programme runs residential (boarding) and day options with intensive daily schedules, supervised housing for residential students, organised activities and excursions, and access to UCLA's tennis courts and campus facilities. Sessions listed include a June session (6/28/2026-7/17/2026) and a July session (7/19/2026-8/7/2026).
International students receive visa support, arrival assistance, and international medical insurance as part of international programme fees.
On completion students receive a Course Completion Certificate and a Letter of Recognition; credit-bearing classes provide a grade report and guidance for requesting transcripts. The programme welcomes aspiring tennis players aged 14-18 and requires completion of the Summer Institute application and enrolment/payment process to secure a place.
