Fancy turning old fabrics into something calming and creative? Join SGS College’s Textiles for Wellbeing workshop to explore repurposing, learn hands-on techniques, build new textile skills and boost your wellbeing in a relaxed, no-assessment space.

The Textiles for Wellbeing course provides a welcoming, relaxed and supportive environment where students can experiment and play with textiles. Participants explore repurposing and reusing materials, learn new creative skills and try a range of techniques. There are no formal assessments.

Classes are workshop-based in a community venue and include tutor demonstrations, worksheets and one-to-one support where needed. Students work at their own pace and will be supported to develop a personal Tailored Learning Outcome focusing on physical health, mental health and community development.

The course is available for self-referring learners or referred patients/clients and is means-tested/part-funded. Enrolments for future dates are released towards the end of the current term via the website and course tutors.
