Ready to join a top academic community? Apply for Thornton College Boarding Academic Scholarship - gain focused teaching, boost your uni prospects, access expert tutors and a supportive boarding experience.

Thornton College's Boarding Academic Scholarship is awarded to academically high-achieving girls and is open to termly boarders in Years 5 to 13 (subject to availability). Scholars are selected as being among the brightest in their year, with assessments tailored to the applicant's year group.

Successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate consistently excellent school reports and meet the baseline assessment score requirement.

All scholars must commit to study at Thornton for the duration of their current Key Stage and continue as termly boarders for the scholarship period. The application process includes submission of a registration form, a recent school report, a headteacher recommendation, and attendance at an entrance interview with the Headteacher and Head of Boarding.

Candidates will normally be invited for a visit that includes an overnight stay; if a visit is not possible a further interview will be arranged.

The scholarship offers a financial discount (30-50%) covering day tuition and termly boarding accommodation; weekend trips that incur fees are excluded. Supporting evidence of other talents such as music or sport will be considered.

To apply, submit an application via the school website or contact the admissions team at admissions@thorntoncollege. com for further details.
