Thrive is a part-time personal development and employability programme for 16-21 year olds who are not currently in education, employment or training. Delivered by Nottingham College in partnership with local organisations, the programme offers practical sessions to build confidence, resilience and life skills, including healthy cooking, budgeting, teamwork projects and digital activities.
Participants learn about different jobs, develop employability skills such as CV writing and interview practice, and take part in workplace tasters and meetings with local employers. Courses run for six weeks (three days per week, 10:00-15:00) at community venues across Nottingham and include all materials, refreshments and a final celebration event.
The programme aims to help young people identify and overcome barriers, clarify next steps into college, apprenticeships or employment, and gain real experience for CVs or personal statements. A certificate of completion is awarded to recognise success.
Family involvement and community activities are part of the programme, with coffee mornings, hands-on family sessions and community projects culminating in a showcase event. Contact details and a registration link are provided for those interested in joining.
