Want to build real engineering skills in Tokyo? Join a two-week University of Tokyo summer school to explore mechanical, civil, electrical and AI engineering through hands-on workshops, team projects and seminars - boost your uni prospects and career-ready skills.

The Tokyo Engineering Summer School is a two-week pre-university engineering programme for high-school students aged 15-18, delivered in central Tokyo with academic sessions at the University of Tokyo and nearby hotel accommodation.

Students explore mechanical, civil, electrical and AI engineering through lectures, practical workshops and team-based, problem-led projects. The programme combines university-level seminars with hands-on design challenges, career skills workshops and a final showcase where students present their solutions and receive an academic certificate and report.

Beyond the classroom, the course includes guided cultural excursions and social activities to experience Tokyo-visits to landmarks, robotics labs where possible, and organised weekend tours. Pastoral and residential support is provided, and the programme includes 24/7 supervision for boarding participants.
