Try a job through an unpaid placement, learn new skills and strengthen your CV. Depending on your circumstances, you could work towards a qualification or get a reference for future applications; university students may be considered for course-linked placements such as social work.
Trafford Council’s work experience scheme offers unpaid placements that let you try a job, learn new skills and strengthen your CV. Placements can also help you work towards a qualification or provide a reference for future applications.
The scheme is aimed at children in the care of Trafford Council, care leavers from Trafford or another Greater Manchester council, people who study in Trafford, and Trafford residents. Priority is given to those groups when placements are allocated.
School students, college students, university students and recent graduates may all be able to enquire about opportunities, depending on their circumstances. School students studying GCSEs or A-levels can register interest for future placements, while university students may be considered for relevant placements linked to their course, such as social work.
