Spend a supervised week exploring departments including Education, Marketing, Operations and Retail at a busy conservation charity and visitor attraction. Activities can include supporting visitor engagement and educational sessions, and you’ll receive a Work Experience Completion Certificate at the end.

Closes 5 January 2027

Twycross Zoo offers work experience placements for young people who want to gain an insight into life at a busy conservation charity and visitor attraction. Placements are designed to build practical workplace skills, confidence and awareness of different career paths, while giving students a chance to see how a modern zoo operates behind the scenes.

Students can experience work across departments such as Education, Marketing, Operations and Retail. Activities may include supporting visitor engagement, helping with educational sessions, assisting with marketing projects, observing retail operations and completing administrative tasks.

Placements are supervised, age-appropriate and include an induction covering health and safety, site information and support contacts.

The programme is competitive and applicants are asked to explain why they want to take part and what they hope to learn. Successful students receive a Work Experience Completion Certificate at the end of the week.

Places are limited, and the zoo does not offer placements within its Animal, Veterinary or Conservation teams.
