The Bartlett Promise Undergraduate Scholarship is UCL Bartlett’s flagship scholarship programme for prospective undergraduate students from backgrounds underrepresented in the Faculty of the Built Environment. It is designed to widen participation in built environment study at UCL and support students who meet the eligibility criteria and demonstrate financial, personal or educational need.
Successful scholars receive full UK-rate tuition fees plus an annual stipend to help with living and study costs for the full expected length of their course. In addition to financial support, scholars are offered mentoring, personal support and careers advice throughout their studies, and become part of a wider community of current and former scholars, benefactors and supporters.

Location
- Must be UK domiciled with home fee status, or be a forced migrant in the UK.
- Must have received and accepted an offer of admission to a Bartlett undergraduate course at UCL.
- Must not have previously completed an undergraduate degree.
- Must meet Bartlett academic requirements for the undergraduate course offered.
- In addition to the mandatory criteria, applicants must meet at least one of the following: assessed household income below £42,875; Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic background; Gypsy, Roma or Traveller background; disability; care experienced; received or been eligible for free school meals; live in a disadvantaged area; or be the first generation in their family to attend university at undergraduate level.
Full UK-rate tuition fees plus a £15,864 annual stipend towards living and study expenses, paid in three instalments across the academic year. Scholars also receive mentoring, personal support and careers advice.
