UCL Computer Science, in partnership with the British Computing Society (BCS), is running a free online summer school for Year 12 students who identify as women or non-binary and are considering applying for Computer Science at university. The programme is designed to give participants a clearer understanding of the subject before they make decisions about degree choices and applications.
Across five interactive one-hour sessions, students will explore areas of modern computing including human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence and machine learning, creative coding, cyber security and digital forensics, data science, and environmental modelling. They will also hear from current UCL Computer Science students about university life, applying to study Computer Science, and what to expect at degree level.
Attendance at all five sessions is mandatory, and all sessions are delivered online so students can join from anywhere.
