Want to study law at a top uni? Join UCL Laws' Target Law Mentoring Scheme for Year 12 students from non-selective state schools: work with current students for two years, build strong applications and confidence, and access events that boost your chances.
UCL Laws invites current Year 12 students from non-selective state schools to apply for the 2026 Target Law Mentoring Scheme. The programme is designed to support students from underrepresented backgrounds in preparing strong applications to top law schools and to build confidence in legal environments.
The 2026 cohort begins in January 2026 and runs as a two-year mentoring programme. Participants attend ten mentoring sessions led by current UCL Laws students and take part in additional events at Bentham House (UCL Laws).
Mentoring and events cover practical areas of law school preparation including personal statements, LNAT practice, court visits, sample lectures, and written work feedback, and provide guidance on the UCAS application process and on life as a law student.
Applications for the 2026 intake close at 5pm on 28 November 2025; applicants will be informed of outcomes in mid-December 2025. For more information and to apply, applicants are directed to the Target Law page or to contact wplaws@ucl.ac.uk.
