This is a 3-week onsite UCLA Summer Institute program focused on fashion development, branding and merchandising for high-school-aged students. Delivered on UCLA's campus in Los Angeles, the course covers trend analysis, the fashion buying process, marketing strategies, entrepreneurial approaches to turning ideas into market-ready products, and evaluations of fashion's societal impact.
Classes are hands-on and include field trips connected to course themes.
The program is aimed at aspiring fashion professionals aged 14 18) and suitable for those curious about fashion careers or seeking university-level enrichment. Students receive instructor feedback, detailed performance summaries, and the opportunity to earn college credit where classes are credit-bearing (transcript requests subject to receiving institutions' policies).
International students are supported with visa guidance (B-2 visitor visa where required) or ESTA instructions for Visa Waiver Program countries, plus an international registration package that includes visa support, transport to/from campus, 24/7 arrival assistance and international medical insurance. Students should expect some additional costs not included in tuition such as airfare, off-campus meals, laundry, personal spending money and the supplemental $95 course supplies fee.

Included in tuition: academic tuition, housing (residential programs), two meals per day (lunch and dinner), afternoon/evening/weekend excursions and activities, transportation for included activities, access to campus facilities and recreation. A supplemental course supplies fee of $95 applies.
