Spend an in-person day in London exploring how MI5, MI6 and GCHQ work together to protect people, buildings and computer systems. Hear about different services and roles, then get practical advice on security clearance, applications and interviews.

Join Uptree and the UK's Intelligence Agencies for an in-person work experience day in London, designed for Year 12, Year 13 and college students with an interest in STEM and early careers routes such as apprenticeships or junior development programmes. The event offers a rare chance to learn how MI5, MI6 and GCHQ work together to protect people, buildings and computer systems in the UK and overseas.

Across the day, you’ll hear an introduction to the intelligence agencies, get an overview of the different services, and explore the wide range of roles available. The session also covers the security clearance process, plus practical advice on applications and interviews, helping you understand what employers in this field look for.

Places are limited to 40, and priority is given to students who meet the criteria listed by the employer. If selected, your exact venue will be shared later, so you should be ready to check your route carefully before travelling.

Uptree also encourages applications from students from under-represented and under-served communities, including disabled, neurodivergent, LGBTQ+ and care-experienced young people.
