Ulster University, in partnership with Seamus Heaney HomePlace, is running a three-day Summer Poetry Lab inspired by the poetry and legacy of Seamus Heaney. The programme offers guided reading, discussion and practical writing workshops designed to help young people develop their creative voice.
Facilitators named on the event include Niamh McNally, Stephen De BfArca, Amanda Mironova-Stronge and Jessica Ned Dhf3re1in. The workshop runs from Monday 10 August to Wednesday 12 August 2026 with daily sessions from 10:00 to 14:45 (local time).
It is aimed at young poetry lovers aged 14-18, including beginners and aspiring writers, and will take place in person at Seamus Heaney HomePlace in Bellaghy. The programme marks the 10th year of Seamus Heaney HomePlace and provides a supportive environment for creative development.
