Work towards a research proposal and deliver a final group presentation on a two-week residential programme led by Cambridge academics. Explore electrical engineering through lectures, research workshops and independent study, with excursions to London and Oxford.

This two-week residential programme introduces students to Electrical and Electronics Engineering through professor-led lectures, small-group supervisions, research workshops and independent study. It is designed for motivated young people who want to explore engineering principles, electrical systems and the ways scientific knowledge drives technological development.

The programme is led by Cambridge academics, including Prof. Tim Wilkinson, and focuses on developing analytical thinking, research skills and confidence in discussing technical ideas.

Students work towards a research proposal and a final group presentation, supported by academic guidance throughout the programme. They also explore themes such as research planning, literature review, methodology, data analysis, academic writing and presentation skills.

In addition to the academic content, the experience includes social and cultural activities, Cambridge-style formal dining, and excursions to London and Oxford. Participants receive a certificate of attendance, a report card, and other academic recognition, with additional rewards including UCAS points and recommendation letters for strong performers.

UniHive is an independent company. It rents facilities from Cambridge colleges and has no formal connection with the University of Cambridge.
