The University of Birmingham’s Earth Sciences Information Day is a campus-based event for students who are beginning to explore university study or who cannot attend a larger Open Day. It offers an early introduction to Earth Sciences at Birmingham, with a focus on how the subject connects to understanding the planet and addressing environmental challenges.
Visitors can meet academic staff and current students, explore teaching facilities and laboratories, and learn more about the Earth Sciences degrees available. The event also highlights fieldwork, research-led teaching, placements, study abroad opportunities and career pathways in geosciences, helping attendees understand what studying the subject at university is really like.
It is especially suitable for students interested in geology, physical geography, palaeontology, environmental engineering and geoscience, as well as those planning an early UCAS application. Parents, carers and guests are welcome, making it a useful first step for anyone considering Birmingham’s Earth Sciences courses.
