Want a head start on uni life? Join the University of Birmingham National Access Summer School to explore research-led learning, live on campus, get e-mentoring from current undergrads and boost your higher-education confidence and choices.

The National Access Summer School is a university access programme run by the University of Birmingham for Year 12 students. It is designed to give participants an insight into university life and to help them explore what studying at a research-led institution is like.

Students taking part can expect first-hand academic learning, support from current undergraduates through e-mentoring, and help with decision-making about higher education. The programme also includes the experience of living in university accommodation and socialising with other students with similar interests.

If students complete the programme and later apply to the University of Birmingham, they may be eligible for additional benefits such as a Pathways to Birmingham offer, guaranteed interviews for selected health-related courses, financial support, an enhanced welcome event, and ongoing support through the Birmingham Scholar programme during their degree.
