The University of Birmingham Natural Sciences Information Day is an on-campus event for prospective students who want to explore the university’s interdisciplinary Natural Sciences degrees. It is especially useful for students who are beginning to research universities, want a smaller and more relaxed alternative to a full open day, or are interested in combining more than one science subject in a flexible degree structure.
Attendees can meet academic staff and current students, explore the Edgbaston campus, and learn how the Natural Sciences BSc and MSci programmes are organised. The event also provides an introduction to subject pathways, teaching facilities, practical learning, laboratory work and field-based study, as well as opportunities such as placements, research projects and careers support.
It is designed to help students make informed choices about university study and understand how interdisciplinary science degrees work in practice. Parents, carers and guests are also welcome, making it a helpful first step for families supporting early university research and UCAS planning.
