Part of the Culture and Society RKEI Public Lecture Series, this talk explores Europe’s borderlands and the lived realities of places where borders are enforced and contested.

Journalist, author and political analyst Lewis Baston discusses themes from his bestselling book Borderlines, examining border regions from Ireland in the west to Ukraine in the east, and reflecting on Chester as a familiar border city. The lecture will consider the social, political and human dimensions of borders, including customs, checkpoints and security.

The event takes place on the University of Chester campus in Exton Park (School of Education 016). Booking is via the University’s ticketing link.
