Apply NowWant to visit campus without the travel cost? Apply for the University of Chester Visit Us Travel Bursary to get up to £100 per visit for you (and a guest), so you can explore campuses, meet staff, and boost your uni application confidence.
The University of Chester Visit Us Travel Bursary provides discretionary travel reimbursement to help people with characteristics under-represented in higher education attend in-person University of Chester events. The fund can cover travel costs for up to two people, totalling up to a maximum of £100 per visit, for eligible attendees at undergraduate or postgraduate Open Days, Visit Days, Applicant Days, campus tours or Outreach events held at the Chester, Warrington or Birkenhead campuses.
Claims may be submitted more than once if you attend multiple eligible events. To apply you must complete the Travel Bursary Claim Form and provide dated supporting evidence (within the last 12 months) demonstrating you meet at least one of the widening participation criteria (for example free school meals/pupil premium for school applicants, looked after child, carer, in receipt of certain benefits, receipt of PIP/DLA, or estranged student).
Bring the completed form and original travel receipts to the meeting point at the event or email scanned forms and receipts to visitus@chester. ac. uk within 14 days of the visit.
Payments are made by electronic bank transfer after attendance and are subject to budget and discretionary assessment.
