Want to tackle global health challenges this summer? Spend four weeks at the University of Exeter exploring infectious and tropical diseases, public health ethics and climate impacts, gain hands‑on lab experience (parasitology, immunology, next‑generation sequencing) and boost your academic and career readiness.

CLOSED THIS CYCLE

Spend four weeks at the University of Exeter International Study Centre exploring international healthcare challenges and strengthening your English. The programme covers topics in global health, infectious and tropical diseases, public health ethics and the effects of climate change on disease.

Practical modules include basic parasitology, immunology and vaccinology; neglected tropical diseases; and evidence-based public health policy. You will gain hands-on experience with next-generation sequencing data, bioinformatic tools and laboratory visits.

The Summer School includes immersive field trips such as visits to a snake venom unit and research laboratories, plus project-based assessment (quizzes, class engagement and a short policy brief presentation). Teaching runs Monday 20 July 2026 - Friday 14 August 2026, with arrival on Saturday 18 July and departure on Sunday 16 August.

Small group sizes and 1-1 mentorship are provided to support learning. To apply or register interest, email internationalstudycentre@exeter. ac.

  • Open to both undergraduate and pre-undergraduate students (Years 11-12).
  • Minimum age: 16 years old.
  • A good level of English required (equivalent to CEFR B1).
  • No prior subject knowledge required.
  • Designed for international students, including non-native English speakers.
Participation Fee

£3,500

Total cost £3,500. Includes tuition, accommodation, teaching materials, social activities and a field trip. Airport transfer can be arranged at an additional cost. Cost does not include international air travel.
