Apply NowFancy writing from the viewpoint of a beating heart? Join University of Glasgow physiologists to explore human biology through creative writing—haiku, imagined voices, short pieces. Build storytelling skills, connect with academics, enjoy refreshments and an optional campus tour.
Explore the wonder of human biology through a creative writing workshop that blends science and storytelling with physiologists from the University of Glasgow. The session encourages creative responses to the human body - from haiku to short pieces written from the perspective of an organ - and is designed for curiosity and imagination rather than prior scientific training.
The event begins with refreshments, registration and an optional tour of the Clarice Pears School of Health and Wellbeing and the Byres Community Hub. The main "Physiology Stories" workshop runs with expert physiologists guiding participants through writing prompts and activities aimed at connecting physiological concepts with personal and poetic storytelling.
This session is part of Glasgow Science Festival's 20th anniversary celebrations and is followed by a Big Lunch funded by The Eden Project. Booking is required via the event Eventbrite link; the workshop is free and is open to anyone aged 16 and over.
Venue: Clarice Pears Building, Byres Community Hub, Byres Rd, Glasgow (G12 8QQ).
