Apply NowFancy getting hands-on in a real lab? Join University of Kent's Bioscience Work Experience Week to run a mini research project, build lab skills, create a research poster and hear from researchers. Free to attend with lunch provided — boost your uni and career choices.
The Bioscience Work Experience Week offers Year 12 / Level 3 students the chance to carry out their own mini research project in an undergraduate teaching laboratory. Participants will gain hands-on laboratory experience, produce a research poster, listen to research talks, and can take part in an agar art competition.
The programme is designed for students studying science at Level 3 who are considering bioscience-related degrees or careers. The programme is free to attend and lunch is provided for all applicants. Students are expected to make their own way to and from campus.
Due to limited places, applicants who meet the University of Kent’s widening participation criteria will be prioritised. Teachers and interested students can complete an expression of interest form to receive a one-off email with full application details when the official application opens (the form link is provided on the outreach page).
The official application form will open in time for Easter.
Free to attend for participants. Lunch will be provided for all applicants. Participants are expected to travel to and from campus at their own expense.
