For ages 13-16, free weekly Saturday morning workshops at Preston Campus let you explore drawing, illustration, painting, ceramics, printmaking and sculpting. Build your skills and portfolio without assessment, then take part in a Manchester cultural visit and a summer show at Somerset House in London.
The University of Lancashire’s Saturday Club is a free creative programme for teenagers aged 13 to 16. It offers weekly Saturday morning art and design workshops at the Preston Campus, giving young people the chance to explore creative subjects in a supportive university setting.
The club covers a wide range of hands-on processes, including drawing, illustration, painting, ceramics, printmaking and sculpting. It is designed to help members build confidence, develop their artistic skills and create a portfolio, all with no pressure of assessment.
As part of the National Saturday Club scheme, members also take part in wider enrichment activities such as a cultural visit to Manchester, a masterclass with an industry professional and a graduation and summer show at Somerset House in London. The club is free, and places are limited each year.
