Extraordinary Experiences: VOTE 16 is a University of Plymouth outreach event that invites students to explore the future of democracy and the power of their own voice. The session looks at big questions around voting, including whether votes should be available at 16, and encourages young people to think critically about how democratic systems work and why participation matters.
Through interactive sessions across law, criminology, sociology and politics, students can debate different viewpoints, examine real-world issues and consider how their generation could influence society. The event is designed for school and college students who want to explore ideas, ask questions and connect academic subjects with wider social issues in an engaging campus setting.
It is part of the university’s schools and colleges outreach offer and is aimed at helping young people discover subjects shaping tomorrow’s society.
