Explore Dartmoor’s rivers through gentle outdoor walks, sensory mapping and creative activities, sharing stories while looking at river health and future care. Drop in for what feels comfortable, with materials provided at Cadover Bridge Car Park.

Join the University of Plymouth for relaxed, creative workshops exploring our relationship with Dartmoor’s rivers. The sessions combine gentle outdoor exploration with hands-on activities, inviting participants to look at the river through their senses, share stories and memories, explore river health, and imagine how these places might be cared for in the future.

Activities may include creating a sensory river map, taking photographs, sharing reflections, exploring maps and ecological information, and thinking about the river’s future. The workshops are designed to be informal and inclusive, with no right or wrong answers and no need for specialist knowledge or artistic experience.

The event is suitable for people of all ages and is a drop-in activity, so you can take part in whichever activities feel comfortable for you. It takes place outdoors at Cadover Bridge Car Park, and attendees should come dressed for the weather and terrain.

Materials are provided, and there is no booking required.
