University of Portsmouth Biological Sciences Taster Day

Join the University of Portsmouth for a one-day Biological Sciences Taster Day designed for Year 12 students. The event introduces Biochemistry, Biology and Marine Biology through hands-on sessions, interactive simulations and tours of the School of Biological Sciences facilities (including experimental aquarium rooms and seawater systems).

Current students and lecturers will be available to discuss practical learning, placement options and career pathways in biological sciences. Check-in opens from 09:30 at the King Henry Building, Portsmouth (PO1 2DY).

The full day includes multiple split-group sessions so every student can take part in each topic area, short breaks and time for questions about choosing a university course, preparing UCAS personal statements and interview advice. Students may bring their own lunch or buy food on campus.

Teachers should book groups using the teacher booking link on the University of Portsmouth website. The Taster Day aims to help Year 12 students explore degree options and potential career destinations in biological sciences.
