Get hands-on in university virtual production facilities, exploring how immersive screen worlds are made. Interactive workshops connect fashion, media, criminology and childhood studies through gender and power, film readings, and Panem’s visual identity.

Join the University of Sunderland for a themed taster day celebrating The Hunger Games. This on-campus event is designed for students interested in fashion, media, criminology and childhood studies, giving them the chance to explore university-level study through a popular cultural theme.

It is a chance to experience the atmosphere of campus life while finding out more about the subjects on offer.

Students will take part in a series of interactive workshops. Topics include gender and power in The Hunger Games, criminological readings of the film, fashion and visual identity in Panem, and film and media production.

The event also includes a look at how virtual production is used to create immersive worlds on screen, with hands-on experience in the university’s virtual production facilities.

The event is aimed at current Year 12 and Year 13 students at school or college. Places are limited, and booking is required. It is not open to mature applicants or to people who are no longer in full-time education.
