The University of Warwick School of Modern Languages and Cultures invites Year 12 students in the West Midlands who are studying a Modern Foreign Language to a Higher Education Languages Taster Day. The day is designed to give students an insight into studying languages at university through seminar-style classes and specially developed taster sessions led by academic staff.
Current students and admissions staff will deliver talks about university study and the application process, and the experience is intended to support UCAS personal statements and subject decision-making. The event runs on Thursday 11 June 2026 from 10:00 to 16:00 and includes lectures, taster seminars, a talk from current students and admissions staff, refreshments, and an optional campus tour at the end of the day.
Teachers will be offered a CPD-style workshop session (details TBC). Students must select sessions in advance via the booking form and places will be confirmed by email. Attendees are required to make their own travel arrangements unless the school provides transport; additional travel details will be emailed to confirmed participants.
The University requests that students only sign up if they are committed to attending due to limited places.
