Black Access is a student-led access and support initiative from the University of York for Black students in UK sixth forms and colleges. It is designed to help you explore what university life is really like, build confidence about higher education, and learn how to thrive in a safe and celebrated environment at York.

The programme is led by current University of York students who share their experiences openly and honestly. You can take part in online and in-person events and activities, ask questions about studying and living at York, and gain tailored support and mentorship as you prepare for the transition from further education to university.

Black Access also links to wider progression support at York. Successful participants may be considered for a guaranteed interview or offer, and the programme is intended to support students who are ready to progress to university and want to connect with a community of Black students and mentors.
