Curious about life as a vet? Join Dukes Plus Vet Summer School at UCL to build hands-on skills-suturing, dental work and real consultations-plus farm, equine and tropical centre visits, one-to-one mentorship and a strong boost for uni or careers.
Take your first steps into a veterinary career on Dukes Plus's Vet Summer School at University College London. Over a 1- or 2-week programme you will immerse yourself in veterinary practice with 25+ hours of academic teaching per week, practical surgical tasks (for example suturing and dental work), and consultations with real pet owners.
The course includes exclusive professional site visits to a working farm, equine centre, and tropical animal facility, and offers one-to-one mentorship on veterinary school applications. Participants will work alongside experienced veterinarians from a range of specialisms and develop clinical reasoning, animal welfare understanding, and teamwork skills.
This Young Vet Summer Experience is tailored for students aged 15-18 and offers a recognised Level 3 qualification in work experience (worth 8 UCAS points) plus a formal certificate of achievement. Residential options (accommodation, meals and guardianship) are available; students from multiple countries attend the multi-campus summer school in London.
