VetCam is a two and a half day residential course from the University of Cambridge for Year 11 and Year 12 students who want an insight into studying veterinary medicine. The programme introduces the Cambridge veterinary course and gives participants a sense of the subject through a mix of lectures, discussions, practical demonstrations, and tours of the preclinical departments and clinical areas.
The course is designed to help students explore what veterinary medicine is like at university, while also showing the distinctive features of studying at Cambridge. Participants stay overnight in St Catharine’s College, giving them a taste of life as a Cambridge undergraduate and the wider student experience.
Places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with a waiting list held for cancellations. The organisers also note that attending VetCam, or other Cambridge open days, does not confer any advantage in the university application process.

Location
- Students in Year 11 or Year 12.
- Chemistry A level, or an equivalent qualification, is mandatory.
- Two other science subjects are strongly recommended, normally Biology, Physics or Maths.
- Likely A/A*-grade candidates are encouraged to attend.
Student Registration with Shared Bathroom Accommodation Package £430.00; En-Suite Bathroom Accommodation Package £455.00. Residential accommodation is included in the package. A £150 cancellation fee applies if a booking is cancelled, and no refund is given for cancellations within seven days of the course starting.
