The Virgil Society: Schools Day is a day of talks and meetings organised by the Virgil Society in association with The Classical Association and supported by the Institute of Classical Studies and UCL. The programme for 2025-2026 comprises a series of Saturday meetings (in-person at Senate House, Malet Street, London, and online via Zoom) with a dedicated Schools Day scheduled for Saturday 17 January 2026 to be held in Chancellor’s Hall.
The 2025-2026 programme includes talks by university-based scholars: Dr Alexander Lee (University of Warwick) on 11 October 2025, Dr Francesca Bugliani Knox (UCL) on 29 November 2025, the Schools Day on 17 January 2026 (details tbc), an online meeting on 7 February 2026 (Prof. Hae-Young Choi), Dr Emily Pillinger (King’s College London) on 14 March 2026, and a multi-session meeting including talks and the Annual General Meeting on 16 May 2026.
Most meetings can be attended remotely via Zoom; the Virgil Society website (https://virgilsociety.org.uk/new/) provides registration details for online attendance and further information about membership and access to past issues of Proceedings of the Virgil Society.
