Vitality is a European Solidarity Corps (ESC) volunteering project based in Bergolo, Alta Langa (Piedmont), Italy, offering a one-year placement for a group of international volunteers. The project aims to bring dynamism to the rural community by promoting international mobility opportunities, valorising local cultural heritage, supporting permaculture and the natural landscape, organising festivals and events, and promoting sustainable tourism.
Volunteers (the project states there will be nine young volunteers) will be involved in coordinating youth projects, supporting local concerts and festivals, undertaking practical community work, engaging with digital and media activities (including the Bergolo Digitale project), and developing personal projects aligned with their learning goals. Activities include outreach in high schools and other local institutions to increase access to youth opportunities and strategies to combat depopulation of the area.
Financial support includes reimbursement for food expenses up to €150/month and a monthly pocket money payment of €150. Local transport costs for project activities are covered by the organisation, and a car is available for volunteers to use in their free time.
Roles described include Junior Youth Workers, a Media-focused volunteer, and a practical 'Golden Hands' volunteer, each with role-specific skill and experience expectations.
