Work alongside local builders mixing concrete, laying bricks and painting classrooms or community buildings. Help repair schools, clinics and homes identified by local communities, under skilled tradespeople’s supervision. Projects run in India for one to 12 weeks; successful volunteers receive a Certificate of Completion.
Join a hands-on construction and renovation volunteering project where you work alongside local builders on practical tasks such as mixing concrete, laying bricks, plastering walls, and painting classrooms or community buildings. The projects support schools, clinics, and homes that local communities have identified as needing repair, and the work is supervised on site by skilled tradespeople and a local site supervisor.
Volunteers do not need prior construction experience, but they do need reasonable fitness and a willingness to follow instructions on a physically demanding placement. The programme is designed for people who want a practical, community-focused experience rather than a desk-based role, and it is suitable for gap year travellers, college groups, and other volunteers looking for meaningful manual work abroad.
Programmes currently run in India and last from 1 to 12 weeks. Fees start from US$599 (including a $249 deposit) and include accommodation, meals, airport pickup, orientation, and in-country support. Volunteers also receive a Certificate of Completion when they finish the project successfully.
