Want to make a real impact abroad? Join Volunteering Solutions in Costa Rica to teach, protect wildlife, support childcare or work on conservation. Build practical skills, meet locals, and boost your uni or career profile while living in vibrant coastal and rainforest communities.

Volunteering Solutions offers year-round volunteer placements in Costa Rica across community, education, childcare, animal welfare, and environmental conservation projects. Options include teaching English, supporting local childcare settings, helping with turtle and wildlife conservation, and contributing to broader sustainability and rescue initiatives.

Placements are based in locations such as San Ramon de Alajuela, Osa Peninsula, Puerto Viejo, and Nicoya Peninsula. Volunteers typically stay with host families or in project accommodation, receive orientation and support on arrival, and work alongside local teams rather than replacing them.

Most projects run Monday to Friday, leaving free time to explore Costa Rica’s beaches, forests, volcanoes, and national parks. The programme is designed for adults who want a meaningful travel experience and are open to working in new environments.

It is suitable for solo volunteers, students, gap year travellers, couples, families, and groups. Some projects have extra requirements, such as a criminal background check for teaching and childcare roles, while conservation placements look for people who are comfortable with animals and outdoor work.
