Support patients and carers across a healthcare trust, helping improve their experience while giving your time and building new skills. You’ll get full training and induction, a volunteer uniform and support from the voluntary service team.
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust offers volunteering opportunities that support staff and, most importantly, patients. Volunteers help improve the patient and carer experience while giving their time freely and contributing to the work of the trust.
The role is a chance to meet new people, use existing skills and develop new ones. The trust says many volunteers also value the opportunity to give something back to the organisation, particularly if they have received care there themselves.
Volunteers are expected to follow the role profile, trust policies, core training, health and safety procedures, and time commitments set out in their application. In return, the trust provides a voluntary service team for support, full training and induction, a volunteer uniform, access to a refreshments hub, development opportunities and an inclusive environment.
Cohort-based recruitment
Volunteering is unpaid, but out-of-pocket expenses including travel to and from the hospital are reimbursed in line with trust policy. A meal allowance is provided when volunteering over meal times.
