Explore local government through a hands-on placement, with opportunities across areas from social care and ICT to libraries and communications. Most placements last one week, giving you practical insight into how a large public-sector organisation works.
Warwickshire County Council’s Work Experience Programme offers hands-on placements across a range of local government roles. It is designed to give people practical insight into how a large public-sector organisation works, with opportunities to explore different departments and build confidence in a workplace setting.
The programme is open to school students, college and university students, young adults who are not currently in education or work, and adults considering a career change or returning to work after a break. No formal qualifications or previous experience are needed to request a placement, making it a broad and accessible opportunity for people at different stages of life.
Placements are generally for one week, although longer or more flexible arrangements may be possible depending on service capacity. Opportunities may be available in areas such as social care, ICT, libraries, legal services, communications and marketing, and business intelligence.
Applicants are asked to email their request directly to the council, including their preferred dates, area of interest and any transport or access needs.
Free to take part.
