Two half-day sessions show you how a law firm works: hear from business teams, compare university and apprenticeship routes, and explore areas of law. Complete both in Year 12 to be invited to apply for summer work experience, with travel and food covered.

Weightmans’ Introductory Legal Insights Programme is designed for people who are considering a career in law and want a clearer picture of what a law firm does. The online interactive sessions explain how Weightmans works, what solicitors do, and the different legal career pathways available, making the programme especially useful for those who are still exploring their options.

Over two half-day sessions during the Easter holidays, participants hear from people across the business, compare university with apprenticeship routes, and take part in an interactive look at different areas of law. The programme is aimed at those with limited knowledge of law and the routes into the profession, and you do not need to be currently studying to apply.

Those who complete both sessions in Year 12 are invited to apply for in-person work experience during the summer at a local Weightmans office. Travel and food costs are covered by Weightmans, giving successful participants a chance to see daily life in a law firm and gain hands-on experience with one of the firm’s teams.
