The West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust Health Academy is an interactive programme for school and college students interested in careers in health and social care. A wide range of NHS roles are showcased - from nursing and therapies to operating department practitioners and support roles - with healthcare professionals available to explain their roles and routes into their careers.
The Academy runs as four Saturday morning sessions (9:00-12:00) on 28 February 2026, 7 March 2026, 21 March 2026 and 28 March 2026 in the Education Centre at West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds. Planned activities include an introduction to healthcare and professionalism, clinical skills lab sessions including manual handling, a departmental marketplace, and CV/personal statement and interview preparation with mock interviews.
Places are limited. Final applications must be submitted by Sunday 15 February 2026. To apply, complete the Trust application form and email it to Volunteer.

If under 18, ensure the form includes signatures from a parent/guardian and a school or college representative. Students are asked to attend all four sessions to complete the course.
Completion may, in some circumstances, yield UCAS points (subject to confirmation).
