West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust runs a four-day Pathology Summer School at the Education Centre, West Suffolk Hospital from Tuesday 21 July to Friday 24 July 2026. The course introduces NHS biomedical science and pathology through practical laboratory activities, hospital and laboratory tours, virtual reality experiences, interactive sessions with NHS professionals, quizzes and group discussions.
This Summer School is aimed at students aged 17-18, primarily those moving into Year 13 in September 2026; students going into Year 12 may be considered if places are available. It is suitable for students studying or planning to study a T Level or similar qualification in biomedical science, or those interested in studying biomedical science or pathology at university.
Participants are expected to attend all four sessions to complete the course. Session times are: Tuesday 10:00-15:15, Wednesday 09:30-15:15, Thursday 09:30-15:15 and Friday 09:30-14:00. Students who attend all sessions will receive a certificate of attendance.
