Remove tree saplings from a wildflower meadow at Ystradfawr reserve during a hands-on conservation taster for beginners. Get stuck into practical site care, learn new skills and meet other volunteers outdoors; the work involves walking over uneven terrain.

Join The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales for a volunteer taster day at Ystradfawr reserve. This hands-on session is designed for beginners and offers a chance to learn new skills, meet new people, and get involved in practical conservation work.

Participants will help protect the reserve’s wildflower meadow by removing tree saplings and supporting the wider care of the site.

The event takes place outdoors and involves walking over uneven terrain, so a good level of physical fitness is needed. Attendees should bring weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear. The meeting point is Ysgol Golwg car park, near the reserve access gate, with parking available there and a short walk to the site.

Please note that dogs are not permitted and the area is not wheelchair accessible.
