Windermere Schools RYA Sailing Courses offer a weeklong, RYA-accredited sailing programme for young people aged 8 17 at Hodge Howe, the school's private watersports centre on Lake Windermere. Courses cover RYA Youth Sailing Scheme levels 1 4 and are suitable for complete beginners through to more experienced children wanting to progress.
Participants receive structured coaching from RYA-qualified instructors with a maximum ratio of six pupils per instructor, hands-on practical sessions, games and confidence-building challenges. Each pupil maintains a personal logbook to record progress through the RYA syllabus.
Daily sessions run with drop-off/registration at 09:00 and collection at 16:30; a light hot lunch and free-flowing hot/cold beverages are provided and the week concludes with a Friday afternoon BBQ at 15:00. Courses run during school holiday periods (Easter, May half-term, summer holiday weeks and October half-term) with limited places each week to maximise learning and safety.
