Windsor Sixth Form offers a number of Academic Study awards in the form of scholarships to support Advanced Level Study in Years 12 and 13. Each award is worth £550 and is intended to help students engage with enhanced academic opportunities; there is a maximum of £250 that can be used towards purchasing IT equipment.

The scholarships are designed to support activities such as lectures and university summer schools to prepare students for applications to universities including Oxford, Cambridge and other Russell Group institutions. Applications are welcome from students who have studied at Windsor and from students from other schools.

Eligibility requires students to have achieved nine or more GCSEs at grades 7-9; shortlisted applicants will be interviewed by the Headteacher. Scholars are expected to commit to academic work beyond public examination requirements, maintain high attainment, contribute to sixth form life (for example as mentors or student leaders), and will be subject to termly review.

  • Open to students who have studied at Windsor and to students who have studied elsewhere.
  • Must have achieved nine or more GCSEs at grades 7-9.
  • Applicants will be interviewed by the Headteacher.
  • Scholars are expected to commit to academic activity beyond public examinations and contribute to sixth form life (e.g., acting as a Mentor, Leader, or undertaking a role on the Student Union).
  • All academic scholarships awarded are subject to termly review.
