Welcome visitors, manage sign-ins and badges, and guide them to the right staff or services. You’ll receive training before starting, with regular refreshers, while supporting visitors of all ages, especially people with dementia.
This volunteering role involves welcoming visitors in a friendly, professional way and helping create a positive first impression. You will greet people as they arrive, direct them to the right person or place, and help ensure visitors feel comfortable and informed.
The role includes following security procedures such as signing in visitors, issuing badges, and monitoring access to certain areas. You may also answer general questions about the charity, its activities, or upcoming events, and help direct visitors to services, meeting rooms, or staff members.
You should be able to communicate clearly, listen carefully, maintain confidentiality, and stay calm when dealing with questions or concerns. The charity is particularly looking for someone interested in working with people of all ages, especially those with dementia.
New volunteers receive a training programme before starting, with further training provided at regular intervals. This is a flexible volunteering opportunity with attendance arranged directly with the provider.
