Volunteering With India (VWI) runs a Women Empowerment Volunteer Program in Jaipur that supports underprivileged women and girls through English education, stitching and tailoring assistance, beauty and vocational training, health and hygiene awareness, personality development and income-generating activities. Volunteers work directly with women from rural villages, slum communities and low-income backgrounds to provide practical skills and confidence-building support while experiencing local culture.
The program is flexible and operates year-round with start dates to suit travellers. Typical placements run Monday to Friday and include airport pickup, accommodation with host families or private options, three meals daily, daily transport to the project and 24/7 local support.
The opportunity is open to international volunteers of many backgrounds (students, gap-year travellers, solo female travellers, retired volunteers and professionals) and no formal qualifications are required. Applicants complete an online application and are advised to arrange an appropriate Indian visa before travel.
