Coppice woodland, clear scrub and tackle hands-on reserve management at a nature reserve near Suckley. Join a volunteer team caring for habitats and wildlife, using basic hand tools outdoors in all weathers.
Worcestershire Wildlife Trust is looking for volunteers to help manage Blackhouse Wood, one of its newer nature reserves near Suckley. This practical conservation role supports the wider volunteer team in maintaining the site’s special features for the future, while helping to care for important habitats and wildlife.
Volunteers carry out hands-on conservation tasks such as coppicing, scrub clearance and other reserve management work. The role is outdoors and varied, with a focus on supporting biodiversity and improving conditions for wildlife across the reserve.
It is suitable for people who enjoy practical work and want to learn more about conservation management.
The opportunity is organised as a monthly Sunday morning volunteer session, with work parties taking place on the third Sunday of the month at 10am between September and March. Volunteers should be willing to work in all weathers, use basic hand tools, and take part in different tasks as needed.
The trust welcomes people from all backgrounds and abilities, provided they have a basic level of fitness.
3rd Sunday of the month, September to March
Free volunteer opportunity.
