Join practical conservation days across four south Worcestershire grassland sites, mowing, controlling scrub, managing hedges and maintaining fencing to protect wildflower habitats. You’ll work outdoors in a team, with training provided if you’re new to using tools.
This volunteering role supports practical conservation work across four grassland sites in south Worcestershire: Brotheridge Green, Boynes Coppice and Meadows, Nash’s Meadows and Melrose Farm Meadows. Volunteers help Worcestershire Wildlife Trust look after important nature reserves and maintain their special wildlife value for the future.
Typical tasks focus on restoring and maintaining wildflower habitats, including mowing, scrub control, hedge management and fencing. The role is hands-on and outdoors, so it suits people who enjoy practical work, learning about habitat management and contributing to local conservation.
The team meets on the second Wednesday of each month from 10am to 3pm, between September and March. It is open to people with enthusiasm for wildlife, a willingness to work in all weathers and an ability to work both independently and as part of a group.
Basic tool use is helpful, but training is provided.
