Help manage woodland for butterflies and wildlife through hands-on coppicing and ride work at a nature reserve. Learn to use basic tools with training provided, and work independently or alongside a team.

Practical Conservation at Grafton Wood is a volunteering role with Worcestershire Wildlife Trust at a nature reserve near Grafton Flyford. Volunteers help to carry out practical conservation work that supports the long-term management of the site and protects its special wildlife features.

At Grafton Wood, the work focuses on tasks that help butterflies and woodland wildlife, including coppicing and ride management. The role is hands-on and outdoors, with training provided for basic tool use.

Volunteers can work independently or as part of a team, and the trust says the opportunity is suitable for everyone.

Tasks run every Wednesday from 10am in autumn and winter. The role offers the chance to learn more about reserve management, spend time in a special wildlife site, and enjoy the health and wellbeing benefits of being outdoors and active.
